Following on from the success of Vagabonds, we went in search of something which the Gothic scene wasn't de rigour within the scene.
Taking inspiration from mainland Europe, we visited several 'high scale' parties, with beautiful outfits, venues, set – pieces and an altogether a magical and decadent feel.
We launched in June 2012 with what was originally going to be a one off masquerade and having discussed this with our customers and staff, we opted for the 'less allows us to provide more' approach. We will be running four Grand Ball's a year; each fitting in roughly with the seasons.
8pm – Doors with Champagne Reception & Happy Hour on Cocktails
Doktor Von Garside playing ethereal and dark ambient soundscape.
9pm – Our mysterious dark caberet performing a mix of music.
After which we have four DJs playing the best of Gothic, Darkwave and Industrial. These are in no particular order of importance DJ Paul Sticks, DJ Doktor Von Garside, DJ Andy Ravensable and DJane Kitty Bitter.
3am – Close
Autumn is such a wonderful season, think of wonderful earthy colours which still lend themselves to those special outfits we all have, or want, within our wardrobes; reds, greens, golds and browns as well as the more standard black.
Sweeping down our sweeping iron staircase into the main area, lined with red velvet curtains, images from by-gone times, gilt lined mirrors, be greeted by our excellent barstaff who will welcome you with your complimentary glass of champagne, select one of our luxurious booths to sit and mingle and people watch as the night unfolds into it's true majesty.
During the opening hour, Mary Janes have kindly agreed to offer a 'buy one, get one free' deal on all cocktails and 'mocktails' between 8 and 9pm. Our caberet show will perform from 9pm and after you will be entertained by our DJs for the remainder of the evening.
We also have a 'light bites' snack menu available very reasonably at the bar to help everyone stave off those hunger pains.
